The power of coincidence

I embarked on this adventure with a lot of faith in the fact that I was doing things from the heart and that I had a lot to contribute with this project. And the confidence that I would be helped by chance and coincidence, which often seem more like small miracles than anything else.

I wanted to share something I discovered here, thanks to my partner, which is the power of networking, of connecting with people.

The last time was yesterday, when in the morning I had the opportunity to meet people in the south and I said to myself that I had to look for accommodation in a town called Merlo San Luis. I'd like someone to help me find a place to live.

In the evening, we were in a bar with Daniel, with whom we share our respective entrepreneurial adventures and who is slowly becoming a friend here. We've already shared a lot of things, helping each other in our businesses. We've taken our Spanish lessons with his company. He shares his network with us, and we've met lots of people with lots of opportunities to develop our business.

And I really realize what it means to do business. I may have had 2 businesses before, but I'd never considered the power of the people around you. And that most of the time, all you have to do is ask for help, and you'll have the opportunity to help in return.

This notion of helping and doing business with people is something I missed. And I realize how much my brother understood that before I did. And that if his company is doing so well, it's thanks to this and that his associates share it.

I now realize that this is one of the lessons we learned from our dad, who does this on a daily basis. And that for a very long time I had a lot of sadness, leading to a lot of anger, and that I wasn't able to see the presence of these lessons.

I feel that with this strength, this project can only succeed. I can't believe the number of contacts and people interested in the project. The amount of help we've already received out of sheer kindness gives us confidence that this is the right place to start something.

It's important to know that the city of Cordoba is in the midst of developing its tourism for digital nomads, and that they are part of our audience. We've met a public/private entity called "Invest in Cordoba", which works with the city of Cordoba and has already offered to help us by providing office space if we have it, a network, it will also talk about our project, it knows professionals here that we could hire temporarily for certain tasks. It's worth noting that salaries here are between 2 and 10 times lower than in France.

A waitress here earns the equivalent of 180 euros a month.

So professional help here is very affordable, I'm thinking of legal advice, developers, designers, social network marketing, which is our current topic. Invest in Cordoba already has a whole network of people here, so finding good profiles will potentially be easier.

She also told us about a city that apparently pays digital nomads to work from home. That's my next investigation!

So we meet up in this bar with Daniel. We chat, I talk about trame. I tell him some of my stories. The conversation deepens as we talk about our more hidden emotions. In the end, Daniel comes home with a warm embrace.

And before leaving, Anisah chats with a girl while I'm gone for two minutes. A German girl who's been living here for 17 years, but she's only been here for a year. Before that, she lived in ... Merlo San Luis, a town more than 350kms from Cordoba and therefore precisely THE CITY where I want to spend a week and where I've put in a request for help in finding accommodation.

As I write these lines, I can hear my mom saying to me, "I can't believe how lucky you are! And I'm convinced deep down that it's because I've tried to make all my life choices with what I felt was right for me.

Ahhh and on the way home that evening, we take an Uber, and in the 10-minute ride home, Anisah sees a hotdog stand. Naturally, she asks the Uber to stop. Getting out of the car, she asks me if I want one, I pass, and ... she proposes to the Uber driver who gladly accepts.

Back in the car, we're off for the remaining two minutes of driving and a happy Uber driver!
